Johnny was always an inspiration to me as I was growing up. I loved the laughter and the way he treated the younger folks with compassion.

I cant think of any trait Johnny had that I myself would not want to carry on.

He has always been in our thoughts and a major part of the Azbill/VanWinkle families.

I shall miss him for all he inspired me to be!

Uncle John was a wonderful man with a big heart and an infectious smile. Darryl has great memories of their fishing trips with Uncle John and his Dad. We will always remember the family gatherings with singing, playing music and good fellowship. You always felt welcomed going to the Spencer home and he will be forever missed. We love you-- Darryl, Kim, Ryan, Garrett and Zach Van Winkle

I have enjoyed the Sweet Spirit Singers for years. Brother John was a good man filled with the Spirit of God. David always enjoyed when they came to our church and house,now they can be together in Gods arms.So sorry for the whole family.

Johnny and Shirley coming to Kentucky for vacations or weekends and him leaving before anyone would get up except my Mom and she always wanted to fix him something to eat or coffee before he went squirrel hunting. Later he and Shirley would fill our home and hearts with their music. His laughter and joy of life was infectious. I grew up loving Johnny and always will.

When I was a child and he and Shirley visited. Mom always got up to see Johnny off as he went out very early to hunt squirrel. Later he and Shirley with their music and laughter filled our home often. His laughter and joy of life was contagious to others. He was a wonderful friend and relative to my parents and I grew up loving him and always will.

! w0rked with Johnny and he has been to my house and play music with fellow works. Sure loved that old boy. Ihave losted another great friend, William t goodlett 717 moberly Rd harrodsburg Ky 40330 Love to the family!!!!

Uncle Johnny was a great man. He loved everyone that was around him. When I think about him one of the first thing I think of is we will never get to hear him make the Banjo talk until we meet in Heaven. I cant put into words how Uncle Johnny was with all of us kids he loved each and everyone of us the same. We will miss you and love you.

Uncle Johnny wil be truely missed by many. He was a great and loving man. My favorite memory of Uncle Johnny was when I was little and would at grannys for Easter or Christmas. Us kids would always hide our candy, because we knew when Uncle Johnny got there he would hunt for it. And of course when he got there he would look for our candy and it was so funny because he couldn't find it. I will never forget those days. Uncle Johnny I love you and will miss you.
