Joseph "Joe" L. Kouts

Joe L. Kouts, age 52 of Harveysburg, Ohio passed away unexpectedly at his home, on December 31, 2025. Born in Dayton, Ohio on November 27, 1973, he was one of 6 sons to the late Jack Fox & Ruby (Petry) Kouts. Joe was a graduate of Celina High School, class of 1992. Joe enjoyed fishing, and regardless of the weather, you would always find him in shorts. He was an avid Miami Dolphins football fan, and Joe had the ability of lighting up a room, by telling “dad jokes”, and was known as a real “goofball”. More than anything he loved spending time with his family, especially his children and grandchildren, and sometimes he even let his brothers come around. He will truly be missed by those who knew him.

Joe is survived by his fiancée of 5 years, Brigett Ivie: children Kayla Kouts & Nicole; Katrina Caudill (Kouts) & Adam Caudill; Jessica & Patrick Robbins; Alex and Rae Ivie: grandchildren Sophia, Liam, Bennett, Forrest, Stella: siblings Michael Kouts; David Kouts; Keith & Rhonda Kouts; John & Betty Kouts; Joshua Kouts & Jermaine Flowers: nieces & nephews Andrew, Joshua, Tyler, Chloe, Bethany & Jody. Joe was also survived by his ex-wife, Heather Johnson (Kouts), as well as numerous extended family members and friends.

Friends may call on the family on Tuesday, January 6, 2026 from 4-6 PM at the Anderson Funeral Home, 1357 E 2nd St, Franklin, Ohio, 45005. A service in Celebration of Joe’s Life will follow at 6 PM with John Kouts officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the funeral home to offset expenses, and to carry on Joe’s Ice-Cream Fund in his memory.
