Lit a candle in memory of Kenneth Clifton Raleigh

First, my thoughts and prayers for Annette, Narcica & Nick and Mel & Tarah and all those who loved Kenny.

I have so many childhood memories Kenny and I shared, BUT one specifically comes to mind when we were around 13 or 14 years old.  It makes me smile every-time I think about this particular night and I know both, Kenny and Kevin Ledford are smiling as I write this memory!  

Myself, Kevin and Kenny each told our parents we would be spending the night with each other.  Of course, the plan was to consume a little alcohol and stay out all night.  Well, we walked across the levy and found our connection on the tracks in Hollywood … ol Smiley Bolds who had no problem going into Turners Grocery and getting us 3 quarts (Busch) and 2 64s (Schlitz Malt) for our over nighter!  Of course, ol Smiley got his quart for the good deed!

After a few hours hanging out in Kenny’s garage drinking; Kevin decides he wants to take a road trip across town to a female’s house whom I won’t identify, but lived close to Franklin H.S.  Without little to zero discussion, Kenny and I agreed and were ALL in for the road trip.  One problem … how do we carry the beer without Johnny (Police) seeing us.  Kenny .. I have an idea, lets carry it in this old suitcase.  Me and Kevin … GREAT idea Kenny as who in the hell would stop 3 teenagers walking downtown Franklin carrying a suitcase at 11:00 P.M on a Friday night?  So, we got packed up and off we went!  

In short, we made the trip (with our suitcase and beer intact) and snuck into the girl’s window.  When her Dad, who himself was consuming liquor, finally passed out in the living room; me and Kenny took turns sneaking past him into the kitchen to retrieve some food throughout the night. As Kevin made out with the girl, me and Kenny would lay underneath the bed eating and laughing our asses off.   Anyway, this is just one memory of MANY I could share!!  

I will wait to see you again before we share a similar journey; however, this one was to Hunter on a cold rainy night! :blush:

I will miss you, but like Kevin, you will ALWAYS hold a special place in my heart!
