Kent is survived by his devoted wife of 34 years, Lisa (Simonton) Astor; his loving children, Stephanie (Tyler) Bowman and Joshua (Brooke) Astor; his grandchildren, his “pretty girl”- Eloise Bowman, his “buddy”- Quill Astor, and a sweet baby girl due in December; his loyal, furry companion, Mya; his mother, Shirley Astor; his brother, Scott Astor; his sisters, Connie (Kenny) Brown, Vicki (Willie) Schenck; his mother-in-law, Dorothy Simonton; brothers-in-law, Craig (Leslie) Simonton and Danny Norman; numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to loving and being loved by his family, he was also a wonderful friend to many and was known for his contagious laugh and smile. He was preceded in death by his father, Dean Astor; his brother, Michael Astor; his father-in-law, Louis “Bud” Simonton; and his sister-in-law, Connie Norman.
Kent was a 1977 graduate of Miamisburg High School. He was a plumber for 44 years and was well known for his love of helping people in his community with their plumbing needs. Kent was an avid gardener and was proud that his children had followed his footsteps with the love for gardening in recent years. He was a dedicated fan of the Cincinnati Reds, The Ohio State Buckeyes, Cincinnati Bearcats (thanks to his children), and the Cincinnati Bengals. He enjoyed spending time with his family and the Bowmans on their annual trips to Norris Lake. He also enjoyed the many family vacations to Destin, FL. His grandchildren were his world and they brought pure joy to his life during the last year and a half.
Visitation will be Sunday, August 1, 2021 from 2-6pm at Anderson Funeral Home, 40 N. Main St Springboro, OH. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11am on Monday, August 2, 2021 at Our Lady of Good Hope, 6 S. 3rd St Miamisburg, OH.
