On Saturday, October 18, 2020, Lon Carson Milligan, affectionately known as "Cotton", passed away at home. He was born July 20, 1937 in Tazewell, TN to the late Dee McKinley and Beulah Milligan. He liked yard sales and bicycling, but his love for his family and church brought him the most joy and contentment. He leaves behind his wife of sixty years, Allene; daughter, Sherri Vanover and husband, Dave; son, Greg and wife, Kris; grandsons, Blake Vanover and wife, Andrea, Spencer Vanover and wife, Stormi ; granddaughter, Emily Milligan. Also surviving him are great-grandchildren, Ava, Kinleigh, Austyn, Knox Carson and Rhett. Besides his parents, preceding him in death are his great-grandson, Davis Vanover, sisters, Estell Fugate, Mae Hodges and Helen Dyke. Surviving siblings are Reubin Milligan, Ruth Johnson and Rose Watson. The funeral will be Friday, October 23, 2020, at 12:00 p.m. (Noon), at the Dixie Highway Christian Center, 5287 S. Dixie Highway, Franklin with Pastor Dave Bowling officiating. Visitation will be immediately before the service from 10 a.m. until noon at the church. Interment will be in Butler County Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to The Dixie Highway Christian Centers.
