Nancy Margaret Saunders (Adkins) born February 3,1939 to Ellis Adkins and Mildred Adkins (Colley) in Clinico, VA. She was the youngest of five children. Growing up she wanted a lot of babies, enough to have her own baseball team. She married Cecil Saunders Sept 29, 1956. God blessed and granted her request. Together they had Cecil Jr (Pat), Dean (Lisa), Micheal, Marlene (Jack), David, Jeff, Tammy (Andy), Amy (Todd), and Jason (Nadia). Her lucky number was 13 and that's just how many grandchildren she had along with 26 great grandchildren, and 1 great - great granddaughter. Margaret loved her family and did whatever she could to provide them a good life. She made their clothes in the early years, she always raised a garden and canned the harvest, she was a housekeeper and caregiver for many years. Margaret was a good Southern cook and always had plenty to set an extra plate or two if anybody were to stop by. She fed anybody that walked through our door.
She said her identity was hardly ever Margaret, it was Cecil's wife, someone's mother and then her last and favorite title, Granny Saunders. And she was perfectly ok with that. She knew God had blessed her wishes and after losing David, she valued every day she had with her children a little bit more.
Margaret was preceded in death by both her parents and all of her brothers, her husband Cecil, and sons David stillborn, Micheal, a daughter-in-law Karen, son-in-law Tank and two infant great grandsons Carson and Seth.
She will be greatly missed by all those that loved and knew her.
Her arrangements are through Anderson funeral home in Franklin Ohio. Visitation will be November 1, 2023 from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm. Funeral Service will be held on November 2, 2023 at 11:00am burial will follow at Woodhill Cemetery, Franklin, Ohio.
