

Mark A. Burkholder, age 58, of Carlisle, Ohio passed away on Tuesday, September 30, 2025 at Hospice of Dayton after a long 23 month battle of cardiomyopathy. Mark was born in Columbus, OH to the late Edwin Burdette and Donna (Schull) Burkholder.
Mark was a professional mover (3rd generation) with Planes Moving & Storage for the past 27 years where he traveled the country; meeting so many special people along the way. When Mark wasn't working he enjoyed camping with family, collecting Hot Wheels, and taking long naps. He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. Mark was a hard worker and an excellent provider for his family. He never met a stranger and his generosity was felt by many. Many of Mark's friends knew him as "Biscutt", because "he slopped up all the gravy". Mark impacted many lives and his loss will be felt by all.
Mark was preceded in death by his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Don and Phyllis Goodwin. He is survived by his wife of 26 years, Mary Burkholder; his children, Amanda (Amine Dehmani) Burkholder, Dawn Griggs, Kolton Griggs, Kurt Griggs, Nick Sherwood; his dogs, Max and Maggie; his grandson, Tyler Griggs; his sister, Loretta Randolph; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Fred (Linda) Schamerloh; his favorite cousin, Rena (Cooter) Gobble; his brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Rick (Teresa) Schamerloh, his brother-in-law, Doug Anderson; sisters-in-law, Stephanie Romo, Kim Schamerloh, Elaine Jobe; multiple nieces and nephews; numerous friends and co-workers.
Visitation will be held Sunday, October 5, 2025 from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM at Anderson Funeral Home Franklin, 1357 E. 2nd St., Franklin, OH 45005, followed by the Funeral Service at 4:00 PM. with Pastor Jimmy Jewel officiating.
