Mary Short

Mary Catherine Creekbaum Short, age 86 passed away on August 25, 2012 at Hospice of Dayton. She was born June 12, 1926 in Middletown the daughter of the late Otis and Elizabeth Creekbaum and was a 1945 graduate of Middletown High School. Mrs. Short worked 10 years at Armco, 15 years at Little People's Daycare in Middletown, and 10 years at Noah's Ark Daycare in Trenton. She was a dedicated wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother as well as a church grandmother to many. Her family was the center of her life. She will be greatly missed. She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Charles C. Short; son, Chuck Beverly Short; daughter, Kathy Greg McFarland; granddaughter, Elizabeth Curtis; grandsons, Andrew Nicole Short, Joshua Jessica Short; great grandchildren, Garrett Hembree, Arianna Hembree, Maddox Short, Sophia Short, Evie Short, Jett Short, Isaiah Gambrel, Haaz Gambrel; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by four sisters, Lorraine William Stamper, Dorothy Robert Keith, Marjorie Donald Williams, and Phyllis Trenum. Visitation will be held at The Freedom House Church of God, 5346 Hamilton Trenton Rd., Trenton, on Thursday from 5:00 to 9:00 PM. The funeral will be 11:00 AM Friday also at the church with Reverend Larry Fultz officiating. She will be laid to rest at the Butler County Memorial Park. The family suggests memorial contributions be made to The Freedom House Church of God. Arrangements are by the Breitenbach-McCoy-Leffler Funeral Home.
