I went to Mille's Beauty Shop every week with my mom (Evalyn Harris) when I was growing up. Millie did mom's hair and Babe gave me my first haircut. Loved that sweet Millie, such good memories of her and Babe. Sad to hear of her passing.

I was saddened to hear of the death of my cousin Millie. I know that this is a difficult time for all that knew Millie; however, please know that Millie's family and friends are in our thoughts and prayers. I have fond memories of the many family visits that I had with Millie, Babe, Lee, Thane & Betty, Johnny, Dolly, Homer and Rowena.

I worked at Millie's Beauty Salon for many years. Millie was wonderful to work for and with. She took us to the National Hairdresser Show every Spring and Fall to learn the new trends. We studied under great hairdressers such as Vidal Sassoon. She once took me to Chicago to study a new line of makeup she carried in the salon. We could then not only take care of our customer's hair, but we completed the look with skin care and a makeup makeover creating a "total look." When I tell my Millie stories to my grandchildren and other family and friends I refer to MIllie as "Martha Stewart." She was a very creative home and renovation decorator, a fabulous cook and her entertaining skills were second to none. MIllie and Babe took us to the Peerless MIll Inn for our annual Christmas dinner. Afterwards we all went back to her house to party! She made a very special Christmas decoration for each of us. We all stood out on the front lawn while she turned all the lights on then we entered to see our handmade gifts hanging from the ceilings. We were like little kids finding our special gift. They rolled up the rug passed out golf socks to all the girls and we danced late into the night. MIllie had her delicious hor d'oeuvres spread out on tables and so we ate and danced the night away. With MIllie, you laughed a lot! I can see her great smile and the twinkle in her eye as I write this. I love and adore you my sweet Millie. My prayers and love go to Dolly and her family and Babe's sister. Lots and lots of love coming your way.

While I lived out of state during most of Millie s time married to my Late-Grandfather Ike and best friend to my Late Grandma Lil, Millie was THE ONLY GRANDMA my daughter s, Kathryn Rose & Emily Ariel Dreyfus knew. She was WONDROUS to all of us, along with my Uncle, her Stepson Jim Thacker, who spent MANY devoted hours cooking for her. As her ELDEST StepGranddaughter & Jim, her devoted Stepson, to be LEFT CALLOUSLY OUT of her obituary is to deny how much we loved her. WE GRIEVE TOO, and NO STEPFAMILY MEMBER should be FAVORED or denied acknowledgment. We will ALWAYS carry her close in heart.

I will always remember my Aunt Millie i worked as a receptionist at the beauty shop,and the great Christmas parties she had.She was very special and will be missed.

I will sure miss the weekend visits with you Grandma Millie. ..Thank you for coming into my Grandpa Ike's life or I wouldn't have known you so well..You never tried to replace my Grandma Lil...and only had wonderful things to say......I love you...I miss you....I will see you again....God bless you........Love, Laurie

Aunt Millie was always my special aunt. She was a major influence in my life. I will miss her.
