I'm just now reading this, sorry to hear about Jack passing. I had him as a Choir Director at St Mary's Memorial high School. Very nice and beautiful person.   I only knew Beth during choir practices

So sorry to read about Jack's passing.  As a student in Memorial High School's class of 1965, I was  privileged to be in the mixed choir with "Mr. Hansbrough".  He provided a wonderful learning atmosphere for choral music, and I have carried what I learned from him throughout my life by singing in our United Methodist church choir.  He attended the Class of 1965's 50th reunion in St. Marys, and I so enjoyed talking with him on that occasion.  He provided me with a lifetime of appreciation for,  and enjoyment of,  choral music, for which I am eternally grateful.

I am just now seeing this. I am sad. Jack was a great influence in my life. He gave me confidence in my musical ability.  I was blessed to be in the District Choirs and served as President my Senior year. Going to our competitions gave me memories of great pride in myself and my school. I enjoyed his quipy dry humor. 
He was so shaken when his wife got cancer. I remember being upset too. That he outlived her is amazing! 
My deepest condolances to all of you. I would have come to his celebration but I didn't see it. 😔
May God give you all peace and warm feelings of comfort as you move forward.

Deepest sympathy to you.  I was Jack’s choir student and I hired him to tune my piano and help with locks more than once.  I had nothing but respect for him. He was a wonderful teacher as well as an outstanding person. I am so very proud that I had the honor of knowing him, and enjoying  his talents. He taught not only music, but respect in the classroom. I am sure he will be greatly missed by all.

So sorry for your loss.  I can't begin to tell you the influence Jack had on me (along with Chuck) on choosing music as my career.  I have such wonderful memories of choir, summer band classes, piano tuning and just general chatting about his church choirs, bell choirs and life after school when I was in the profession.  To this day I believe that my sigh reading ability is due to his teaching in class.  Strange as it may be, in the past few weeks I had been thinking about him, wondering how he was and considered talking with him.  I now only wish I had done just that.  My oldest sister Marcia had contacted him this past summer to see if he might come to their class reunion, so at that point I knew he was doing ok.  BJ, Mike, Diana and Beth, I am so sorry for your loss.  He was a great ma-it makes me sad.  Hugs and prayers for all of you as well as your families.

I have many fond memories of Jack from childhood. Watching him direct the school choirs, listening to him tune my parents piano,  and going out for coffee and an ice cream sundae with him and my Dad after HS football games. He was an impressive  musician who had diverse interests and talents. My Dad seemed to truly enjoy working with him in the MHS music department and seemed to treasure Jack’s friendship. Our sincere condolences to BJ, Mike, Diana, Beth and their families.

My deepest sympathy for the Hansborough family during this difficult time and prayers. Mr. Hansborough has always been an influence in my life, even after 51 years. My four years of choir participation has and always be the most memorable, even though I could not really sing a note on my own. He still has faith and quote (not mine but his) “still let me participate. I still talk about my time in Choir and how much fun it was, especially going to all the competitions and always having a superior rating. I am sure that some of his gray hairs were because of some of the antics we would pull on him. Fly high, Jack, and keep all in tune after you enter the gates of heaven. I will always miss the conversations we had prior to you moving and cherish the memories of you as being one of the best.
