Pamela attended Franklin High School and graduated with the Class of 1965. She went on to graduate from Miami University in 1969 with a degree in education—an early reflection of the devoted, kind-hearted spirit that would shape her life’s work and the many lives she touched.
For 35 years, Pamela taught at Carlisle local schools, serving generations of students with steady care and selfless dedication. Even after retirement, she continued to substitute teach within the Carlisle Schools, remaining faithful to the calling she carried so naturally and so well.
Pamela was a woman of strong faith and a member of Covenant Presbyterian Church. Her faith was lived with quiet constancy—expressed in the way she showed up for others, offered encouragement, and gave of herself without seeking recognition.
Pamela and her husband, H. Wade Goins, recently celebrated 38 years of marriage. Above all else, Pamela’s greatest joy was time with her family, whom she adored. Beloved and deeply devoted, she made family feel like home—through presence, patience, and a love that asked for nothing in return.
Pamela enjoyed shopping and was a huge fan of the Cincinnati Reds. She was also very active in the community and in the lives of her family and friends. She treasured a close knit group of friends she met with weekly, traveled with, and shared their bond of friendship throughout the decades—relationships sustained by kindness, loyalty, and genuine care.
Aside from her parents, Pam was preceded in death by her two sisters, Eleanor ( Steve) Axiotes and Susan (Ron) Pfeifer; her father in law, Harvey Goins.
Pamela is survived by her husband, H. Wade Goins of Miamisburg, Ohio; her children, Gregory Cox (Meaghan) of Centerville, Ohio, Ginny Papst (Levi) of Carlisle, Ohio, Amy Hawkins (Chris) of Carlisle, Ohio, Devon Goins of Carlisle, Ohio, and Farah Johnson (Jeff) of Springboro, Ohio; her sister in law, Sharon Shoemaker (Tony) of Miamisburg, Ohio; her grandchildren, Anderson, Sullivan, Ellington, Caden, Drake, Adelyn, Alex, Cameron (Malea), Kelsey (Braedon), Taylor, Hunter, and Landon; her great grandson, Colson; and her mother-in-law, Loraine Goins. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and close friends.
A funeral service will take place on Monday, May 4th, 2026 from 1:00 p.m. at Camp Chautauqua (10550 Camp Trails, Miamisburg, Ohio 45342), with a visitation to begin at 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. She will be laid to rest at Woodside Cemetery in Franklin.
