

He was born at Grandview Hospital in Dayton, Ohio on April 6, 1959 to James Dale Byrd and Arnedia (Halsey) Byrd. He graduated from Carlisle High School, class of 1977.
Rick recently worked at BB&T as a mortgage loan officer. In the early nineteen nineties he owned his own business, Apple Banc Corporation.
Rick is preceded in death by his paternal grandparents: Floyd John Byrd and Hazel Byrd, his maternal grandparents; Dee Witt Halsey and Edna Jewel Halsey, and his niece, Misty Dawn Byrd.
He is survived by his children: Ashley Marie (Brandon Grant) Cornell, Brandon Lee (Hanna) Byrd, and Kristin Rachelle (Kyle) Holmes.

his grandchildren: Madison, Jayden, Cayden, Connor, Kallie, Cayden, Kendall, Karter and Khloe.
siblings: Jim Byrd, Tim (Sandy) Byrd, Belenda (Phillip) Lunsford and Tonja (Robert) Johnston.
He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews as well as extended family and friends.
Rick’s passion in his life was his greatest love, his children.
He was an avid fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers, Ohio State Buckeyes and Moeller football where he previously coach the youth football team.
He loved attending his grandchildren’s soccer and baseball games.
He also enjoyed listening to music, especially Elvis Presley and collected Elvis Presley memorabilia.
Rick is loved and will be missed by all who came in contact with him.
His charismatic and quick wit personality made him endearing to everyone.
He will be remembered by all for his intelligence, his strength, his debonair appearance and his love.
Funeral services are Thursday, August 24, 2017 at 1:00 pm at Anderson Funeral Homes, 1357 East Second Street Franklin, Ohio with Reverend Robert W. Johnston, Jr. officiating. Burial in Woodhill Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 24, 2017 from 11:00 am-1:00 pm at the funeral home.
