Tara Griffin

Tara Lynn (Cobb) Griffin, 51, met her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on February 13, 2024, at 3:45 pm in her home in Springboro, Ohio with her family at her side. She was born January 24,1973 to Charles and Margie (Buchanan) Cobb in Johnson City, New York.

Tara graduated from Pekin Community High School, Pekin, Illinois in 1991 and then graduated from

Illinois State University in 1996. Tara married Paul Griffin, July 19,1997. Tara enjoyed many years of teaching math to middle school students. She taught in Illinois, Tennessee, and Ohio, last teaching at E.J. Brown in Dayton, Ohio.

She is survived by her husband Paul; her son Jonathon Louis Griffin and daughter Josie Ann Griffin, both at home; her parents Charles and Margie Cobb; her brother Douglas (Stepanie) Cobb and niece Abbey Cobb. She is also survived by her in-laws Larry and Mary Griffin; sister in-law Kim (Jeff) Burke; nephew Connor Burke; niece Erin Burke; brother in-law Brian (Becky) Griffin; nephew Eddie Griffin and niece Claire Griffin.

Tara was a champion for the under dog and a devoted encourager. She loved sharing about her Lord and would often post on Facebook,” want to know more of Jesus, ask me”. Tara had a gentle spirit that cared deeply for so many. In August 2016 Tara and her family moved to Springboro, Ohio to help with the start of GracePoint Fellowship Church. She loved welcoming new people to church and being sure they felt accepted.

Visitation hours will be Friday, February 23,2024, 4-7 p.m. at Gracepoint Fellowship Church, 1455 E. 2nd St., Franklin, Ohio. Her Celebration service will be Saturday, February 24,2024 at 11 a.m. at Gracepoint, officiated by Pastor Paul Bilunka.

In lieu of flowers a memorial fund is being set up for Tara's two children, Jonathon (Stable account for his future) and Josie (college fund). Checks should be made out to Paul Griffin.
