Thelma Jean Akers 87, of Franklin went to be with her Lord Sunday morning , January 31, 2016 at home surrounded by her family. She was born in Rowan County, KY the daughter of Edward and Julia (Hyatt) Thornsburg.
Jean is preceded in death by her husband, Virgil (2014), 2 sons, Randy and Barry, 1 brother and 5 sisters. Jean attended the Carlisle First Church of God.
She is survived by three daughters, Karen (Charles) Shouse, Rhonda (Steve) Ward and Felicia (Alger) Back, two sons, Terry (Cindy) and Doug (Diane) Akers, 9 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.
Funeral service will be Wednesday, February 3, 2016 at 12:00 pm at the Anderson Funeral Home 1357 East Second Street, Franklin, with grandsons Steven Reeves and Seth Walsh officiating.
