FRANKLIN - Tom Parrish was born June 14, 1957 in Welch, West Virginia to Albert and Jessie Parrish and went to be with his Lord, Jesus Christ on February 17, 2026. The Parrish family had moved to Ashland, Ohio in 1958. Tom was raised to be an independent and hardworking man. The career Tom chose was in the corrugated paper industry, becoming a Plant Maintenance Manager for Smurfit Stone in Blue Ash, Ohio. After his retirement, Tom went on to be the owner of several harness racing horses, having many wins at Scioto, Lebanon, Dayton and Miami Valley Raceways. Tom is survived by his wife and best friend, Lori Cutter Parrish. His son Tracy (Angela), grandchildren Madison, Matthew and great granddaughter, Isla Parrish. His daughter, Shawna (Jason) Finley, Alexa and Mia Finley. Given daughter, Erin Detrow Cassaro, and those who called him “Poppy”, Annie, George and Hank Cassaro. Brothers, Tim (Sharon)
Parrish and Dan (Cindy Callahan) Parrish. Along with his numerous cousins, nephews and nieces and “friends he called family”. Most of all, he’ll be missed by Happy, his dog. To all who knew Tom over the years, his main goal was to make someone smile or laugh every
day. As his brothers would lovingly say, he definitely loved life and the people in his life. Tom truly fought the good fight with bravery and courage right up to the end. His medical problems were just too much to overcome. We feel he is at peace and ready to move on to heaven. The Parrish family would like to thank the Doctors,
Nurses, Rehab Therapists and entire staff at the Premier Atrium Medical Center in Middletown, Ohio for the excellent and loving care he had received in the last years of his life. Also his special care nurses, Cindy Cutter and Fidelity nurses, Hannah and Jatina.
Tom will be laid to rest at the Pines Pet Cemetery along with his four-legged children. A Celebration of Life will take place in the near future.
