Bleslyn Ann Basa was born to Arturo and Genoveva Basa on September 26, 1978 at Kapi’olani Hospital in Honolulu, Hawaii. Bleslyn's parents had been trying to conceive for 9 years and when they finally did they felt blessed and chose to name her Bleslyn.
Bleslyn’s early life began in the Philippines cared for and adored by her loving Aunt Alejandria Basa (Auntie Cholie) until the age of 5 years old when she later reunited with her parents and siblings in Hawaii. In 1987 they relocated and moved to the Bay Area. Bleslyn graduated from Santa Clara High Class of 1997 and later attended San Jose State and pursued a career of Maternal Fetal Medicine. After graduation Bleslyn worked at Obstetrix Medical Group in Campbell and went on to Palo Alto Medical Foundation where she specialized in high risk pregnancies where she cared for her patients with the upmost respect and care. Bleslyn believed if you “choose a job that you love, you will never have to work a day in your life!”
In the Fall of 2016 Bleslyn was diagnosed with Breast Cancer, she chose to fight this battle privately and held her head up high despite the battle ahead. In July of 2018 the cancer had metastasized, Bleslyn continued to fight never giving up and continued to make every moment count. Despite everything she was up against she still managed to put on makeup and dress up every day, she had the desire to fight and wouldn't give in. Bleslyn loved life and all the people she shared life with. One brief encounter with Bleslyn left you a beautiful impression that would last a lifetime.
For her children, be proud your mother was a warrior she had the strength, motivation, and determination of a giant. For her parents be proud, along-side God you have created the most beautiful soul on Earth. For her Auntie Cholie be proud your kind, gentle, and free spirit were the qualities Bleslyn possessed. For her brothers be proud Bleslyn was the ideal older sibling that inspired you to always strive for success and happiness. For her co-workers be proud to have worked with a positive energy that was always willing to help everyone, making a tough job a little bit easier. For her friends be honored to have had the privileged to walk along side and amongst an angel here on earth, lifting you up whenever you were down.
Bleslyn will always be remembered as loving life as reflected through her endearingly beautiful smile and positive energy that could easily light up a dark room. Bleslyn made the best out of any bad situation and always focused on positivity. Bleslyn's courageous strength and alluring personality were unmeasurable. You will be missed, “Always and Forever” Bleslyn!
