Hi Gie and your son Jed,

You're in our prayers. 
We're sad to know that Dan is not with us anymore but I feel happy because he's now resting with our dear God in peace. 
God is always good to us and He won't forsake us. 
Just be strong and hold unto Him. 
Truly, we will miss Dan.

Gie and Jed, 
It was a sad news when you notified me of Dado's passing. Dado was my best friend when we were in college in the Philippines. He was a brother and a friend and loved by my family when he comes over to our house in the Philippines. My brothers and sisters were also saddened when I told them of his passing. Though we have not seen each other since I left the Philippines in 1977, we spoke once in a while over the phone and exchanged news about ourselves and our families. During our conversations he was always funny, joked all the time and really nice to talk to him. I know I will miss him. Please accept our heartfelt sympathies and our hearts goes to you and your family during this difficult time.

Jed and Angie, sorry to hear about your loss.  May you feel consoled that your love one is now with Him for eternity. Our thoughts and prayers are with you in this difficult time.

At the end of  Dan's  journey probably he asks this question,  Have I made Gie, my spouse, and child Jed,  happy? Did I make them proud? Did  I spend  my life for them accordingly?

I met Dan many years ago after  his marriage to  my  sister- in- law. It was  just like an acquaintance  because few years after his marriage he left for the U. S. However  my short meeting  with him is  about his kindness and being an unassuming person.  My intimate  meeting with him is when my opportunity came to visit the U.S.,I stayed with his family  in San Jose, and  he  brought  me to  places like  Lake Tahoe,  Reno and places nearby California. Not to mention BBQ and good food.  It was fun, educational  and really an impression  because my visit  is met with much gusto and all time Filipino  hospitality . He really made me feel I am home. And all welcome. Thus   strengthening my resolved  that truly he is a good man. with the early demise of Dan he will be   missedboth by his family and  many friends, like me, whom he touched and inspired. But as he rests from his life's labor and pain, this great husband, father, and friend should know that he has made his family happy and  proud. 

Maybe you asks this  question  why do good men die young?  Yes Dan died young, and he deserve to live much longer.  Well one time I visited  the house of my friend who   is grieving because he lost his son at  a very early age of  eighteen. I shook his hand, then whisper  some consoling words. In reply he said, "God give and he take." "My son is  given to me for eighteen years and now  He is taking it.".He  added, But the same,  I will say thank you to HIm for the 18 years of sharing his creature-my son to us.. Because after all He owns my son and he has all the right to take him. My family and I will be lonely and sad but maybe for a while only.  But my son I know will never get sad nor in pain but forever will be happy. Dan till we meet again.

To my Tito Dan,

I never had the chance to meet you personally, to hug you, to kiss you, or even to say hello to you. But it does not necessarily mean that I've loved you less. You know why? Because my Tatay Lito keeps on telling me that you're very generous. (which is not typical to Ilocanos out there) Hehe! Well, it's obvious naman po because you always have something for us. I may not had the chance to meet you personally but I know deep in my heart that you're a wonderful person. Huwag na lang po kayong magpaparamdam sakin dahil mag isa lang po ako sa EGI at matatakutin po ako. Hehe! Thank you Tito Dan for everything.
