He enjoyed playing basketball during his teens. He worked as an acolyte/sacristan at Santisima Trinidad Church at Balic-balic, Sampaloc, Manila and then at Santisimo Rosario Parish Church likewise in Sampaloc, located at the University of Santo Tomas.
He migrated to U.S. and met his wife, Cristeta who was beside him until death on Nov 17 2020. They shared a lovely marriage together until the end. Although he was experiencing an early Alzheimer and its lapses, when asked during FaceTime, he identified his wife, Cristeta.
He was a very good Tango instructor, a dance partner of women sank on their seats, during parties. As a brother, he told his story about one of his siblings who cooked sinigang, a sour soup that never dries out; as long as you like it, there is soup, to the point that adding more water every time it is reheated, becomes tasteless. Uncle was a humorist critic, advising a room for improvement. Another story was about giving his 2 siblings a capital for a little business, with no revenue returned including the capital; just like a debt is depleted.
He loved wearing white outfit. He jokingly said that he wanted to be a doctor but he ended up being a conductor. There was a time he went driver’s training at a duck farm and got splashed with mud. That was a lesson, but he still loved white outfit.
He was a part of the plan to move to Hawaii but I guess his Five O is up there in Heaven. Heaven Five O.
We, siblings, relatives and friends, here and abroad will always remember you.
And we all say Eternal rest grant unto Gregorio Roy Temporal O Lord and let perpetual life shine upon you. May you rest in peace, Amen.
