John Joseph Niedziela passed away at age 52 in Santa Clara, CA on August 9, 2010, after a brave battle with pancreatic cancer. He touched the lives of all who knew him, with many friends and a loving family. He was born November 16, 1957 to John and the late Dorothy Niedziela, and was raised in the south suburbs of Chicago, IL. John was the oldest of six children and the only brother to his five sisters: Teresa, Susan, Sharon, Dori and Jane. He was the proud uncle to twelve nieces and nephews, and a dear brother in law. He is survived by his loving wife Linda Harris and four stepchildren.
When John was growing up, he excelled in school and enjoyed many hobbies. He built his own telescope at the Adler Planetarium, and learned to fly planes with the Civil Air Patrol in Illinois. He had a love of trains, and volunteered with the historic Niles Canyon Railway. His impressive work achievements at California Water Service, where he was employed, and the wonderful relationships he built while working there give us much to be thankful for. It was in the San Jose, CA area that he met his loving wife Linda, her children, and his best friends Henry and Jim. We marvel at a life that, while much too short, was lived with such gusto. As John himself would put it, “It’s all good.” We will keep John in our hearts forever.
Services have been held in Fremont, California. Arrangements under the Lima Family Milpitas-Fremont Mortuary, Cedar Lawn, for more information.
