She leaves her husband of 37 years, Alfred Gregory, her sons Duane and Anthony, her sisters Choonsoo, Kuyngsoo, and Hansoo, and brothers Kapsoo and Chongsoo, and all their families. She was preceded in death by her father Ung-To, her mother Kap-Hui, and her sisters Insoo and Dongsoo.
Born in Korea, Kil Cha Lee and her immediate family fled the Communists to the South. In youth she was a competitive diver and cyclist. She and her parents immigrated to America in 1970, reuniting with her seven siblings.
In 1978 she married Alfred in Arizona where he adopted her son Duane. They moved to Virginia near Alfred’s parents. In 1981 after Anthony was born they moved to San Jose.
Mrs. Gregory was a passionate and proud mother and wife, a prolific gardener, and unforgettable to the thousands she made smile. Her people skills served her brief marketing business, but her life’s work always revolved around family.
Kil Cha played harmonica, grew beautiful tulips, and mastered hundreds of Korean, Chinese, and American dishes.
