Born and raised in Cam Ranh Vietnam, Nguyen Xuan Loi was an only child to his father (Nguyen Hoa) and mother (Le Thi Ham). As a young man in his early twenties, he met and married Nguyen Thi Nhi and eventually they had five children; an eldest son Thang, followed by four daughters, Dung, Hoa, Tuyet and Victoria. In addition, he also has five granddaughters and one grandson.
After the Vietnam War and having endured reeducation camp, he dreamed of a better life for his family, a life full of opportunity and prosperity. In a small fishing boat, he successfully and safely guided his family, relatives and friends across the Pacific. His family settled in the Philippines for a short time eventually planting roots in Modesto California. There he was able to provide for his family by starting a small yet profitable landscaping business
Nguyen Xuan Loi was known to be a humble, generous, and simple man that needed neither material goods nor monetary means to find fulfillment. Rather he sought out pleasure in all things outdoors whether it was fishing, camping, or gardening. He was lively in social settings and found enjoyment in all company. For those privileged enough to have met him, they knew he was a selfless man who gave more than he received.
Nguyen Xuan Loi is survived by his wife, five children, and six grandchildren. Though his life was tragically and abruptly cut short we will forever be reminded of his kindness and compassion. We invite you to celebrate his life and continue his legacy by passing on his greatest traits.
