Milpitas, California.
Marcela was born on September 4, 1936 to Gregorio Castillo Duran and Diega Rumbaoa Duran
in Bacarra, Ilocos Norte, Philippines. Marcela met her future husband Isaias Lagundino at Bethel
Bible Institute in Manila. After graduating in 1961, Marcela and Isaias got married on May 31,
1967. They then moved to Mindanao where they both taught at AGBIM (Assembly of God Bible
Institute of Mindanao). They resided at AGBIM where they raised their three children- Elmer,
Marissa and Eric. After many years of serving at the Bible School, they were called to Pastor at
City Assembly of God in General Santos City, Mindanao where the family lived before migrating
to the USA in 1989.
Marcela worked for a short time at Tanon Electronics while helping support her family. She was
a great Ministry wife supporting her husband Isaias at Full Gospel Assembly of God and later at
Divine Love Christian Fellowship. She was a prayer warrior and missionary, helping various
churches in the Philippines. Her passion for Christ and sharing the goodness of God resonated
through her work in Missions. She was a great cook and baker. Her famous carioca, banana
bread, and suman was always a delight at parties. She loved to share, from shipping
persimmons to her relatives to shipping mission boxes to various churches in the Philippines.
Most of all, she cherishes her 6 grandchildren whom she prays for every night.
Marcela is survived by her husband Isaias Lagundino and three children: Elmer D. Lagundino
(wife Love Joy Lagundino), Marissa L. Madanes (husband Louie Jay Madanes), and Eric D.
Lagundino (wife Maria Lourdes B. Lagundino); Six grandchildren Jeremiah Lagundino (23),
Maliya Marie Madanes (22), Elijah David Lagundino (20), Alexander Jay Madanes (18), Jasmine
Faith Lagundino (18), and Jewel Anne Lagundino(15).
Marcela is also survived by her brother, Alfredo Duran and sisters, Mary Concepcion D. Castillo
and Andrea D. Cacal.
Marcela is preceded in death by her parents, Gregorio Castillo Duran and Diega Rumbaoa
Duran; as well as her brothers, Juan Duran and Efipanio Duran.
