Mercedita Gomez Bibay was born in November 13, 1936 in San Juan, Rizal, Philippines. She was the 5th child of Mauro Urbino Gomez and Felecitas Andres Reyes. She had 4 brothers and 3 sisters. Four of her siblings are with her in the arms of our Heavenly Father.
Mercy or Ditas as she was fondly called by her relatives, friends and acquaintances had a deep passion for teaching. She got her teaching credential at a very young age.
Mercy married her co-teacher Ernesto Agustin Bibay, the love of her life on July 28, 1962. They were devoted to each other until his passing on May 4, 2015.
Mercy was a holder of a Masters of Arts degree in Guidance and Counseling. She became a Guidance Coordinator in Aguinaldo West District Cubao, Quezon City Philippines.
She had been a dedicated member of the First United Methodist Church in the Philippines as well as in the United States of America.
Mercy immigrated to the United States of America in 1981 with her husband and her 2 daughters. Through the years, they enjoyed their lives in America.
During her 84 years, Mercy had proven herself to be an accomplished educator, employee, a successful and dedicated wife, a caring mother, mother in law and grandmother.
A visitation for Mercedita will be held Saturday, November 6, 2021 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Lima Family Milpitas-Fremont Mortuary, 48800 Warm Springs Blvd, Fremont, CA 94539. A memorial service will occur from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM and a committal service will occur immediately after the memorial service.
Due to Covid concerns, masks must be worn at all times while indoors and where social distancing is not possible. No food or drink will be allowed. Also due to Covid concerns, there will not be a reception after the funeral. We will gather at a future date to share a meal together and celebrate Mercedita's life when it is safe to gather as a group, indoors without masks.
