Our dear mother sadly passed away on January 23rd, 2024, at the age of 75. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother, and sister who always put others’ needs before her own.
Norma was born in Santa Maria, Ilocos Sur, Philippines on October 26, 1948. She immigrated to the United States in 1975. She married and started a family in Fremont California, where she lived most of her life. She was always there for the family’s needs.
Her compassion carried over into her career as a nursing assistant, where she brightened the day for her patients. She was a genuinely caring person and always carried a smile on her face.
She gave unconditionally and endlessly, without seeking gratitude or asking for anything in return. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family—most recently, her grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by: Onofre Ramboanga, father; Valeriana Ramboanga. mother; Demetrio Barreto, husband; Jayne Barreto, daughter; and Esther Camarillo, sister.
She is survived by three sons—Donald, Edward, and Jeffrey Barreto, and five grandchildren—Nathan and Jasmine Galvez, Destyni Augustin, Maya and Don Rainen Barreto. Also surviving are a sister and brother, Gloria and Mario Ramboanga.
Norma will live eternally in our hearts and minds.
