November 18, 1932 - September 17, 2022
Ofelia “Fely” Crossland passed away on the morning of September 17 at the age of 89.
She was born to Celestina and Ramon Reyes in Pampanga, Philippines on November 18, 1932. Ofelia was blessed with a large family, one of 11 children. She met her future husband, Marsell, in Pampanga and they married on April 6, 1957. In 1957, they had their first child, Ava, and a year later, they moved back to the States where they were stationed in New Mexico. In 1959, they had their second child, Marcel.
After moving around the U.S., Marsell retired from the U.S. Air Force, and they returned to California in 1971, becoming part of the larger Crossland family.
Over the years, she sponsored many family members in their migration to the U.S. Ofelia was revered for her fierce loyalty and protection of her family. She was spunky, witty, and often bossy. Ofelia had her own way of showing care. Her home was always open. And while she always had work for you to do, you were never without a meal when you came over. She will be dearly missed by her loved ones.
Ofelia is survived by her two children, Ava Espinoza and Marcel Crossland; her four grandchildren, Nicole Espinoza, Dana Cilono, Drew Crossland, and Taylor Crossland; her seven great-grandchildren, Anthony Espinoza, Grey Crossland-Hasty, Dylan Cilono, Sofia Cilono, Camden Crossland, Sadie Crossland, and Alijah Norman; her brothers, Luming and Johnny; and her sister, Felicing. She is preceded in death by her husband, Marsell; her grandson, Nicholas; her sisters Encarnacion, Emerenciana, and Angelina; and her brothers Zoilo Sr. and Ricardo Sr.
