Passed away April 8 ,2026, at home peacefully.
He was born Feb 7th 1929 in Cheyenne, WY. After graduating high school, enlisted in the Navy in 1947. He became part of the flight crew for the P3 Orion Sub searchers and flew on the Pacific Rim.
He married Elinor Merrill in July 1952. They transferred to different bases. They have 3 children , Debbie, Dan, Kris. The final transfer was to Moffett Field. From there they bought a house in Santa Clara . CA, in 1962.
He retired from the Navy in 1968. Then went to work for a start up airline Air California/ AirCal/ American Airlines. He was on the first negotiating team for the Union. He retired in 1989. Then on to his favorite pastime of golf. He often said his score was his age.
Phillip is survived by his wife Elinor, Debbie, Dan(Faith) Kris(Greg). 5 grandkids and great grandkids.
