Betty was born December 16, 1926 in Gilbert, Arizona to Ygnacio and Genoveva Moreno. On June 18, 1955 she married Jim Florez and, together, they raised five children, Geneva, Juanita, Delfina, Ruben, and Veronica.
Innumerable lives were touched by Betty. This was evidenced by the number of visitors she had in the hospital and at home just prior to her death. Betty truly practiced the art of unconditional love and she knew the importance of laughing every single day. She was always ready to play a game of cards, especially “31”. She played her last game three days prior to her passing and will be holding a 31 in her hand when she is buried.
Betty is preceded in death by her daughter Delfina, grandson Daniel Max Padilla, and great-grandson Daniel Valente Galindo. She is survived by her husband Jim, daughters Geneva, Juanita, and Veronica, son Ruben, sisters Angie, Josie and Mary, along with grandchildren and great-grandchildren too numerous to mention. Visitation will be Thursday September 12, 2019, 6 PM-9 PM at Lima Family Milpitas-Fremont Mortuary, 48800 Warm Springs Blvd, Fremont 94539 and funeral services will be held at the same location on Friday September 13, 2019 10 AM-12 PM. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in her name to Bridge of Faith Church for Meals of Love, 27343 Whitman Street, Hayward, CA 94544. Attn: Pastor Mike. A reception from 1-4 pm following the funeral service will be held at Bridge of Faith Church, 27343 Whitman Street, Hayward (near Tennyson High School).
