Our beautiful mother, Virginia Macaraeg, lived a long 84 years full of love and adventure. She was born on November 16, 1941, in her hometown of Amadeo, Cavite in the Philippines. Virginia was a trailblazer, being the first in her family to attend college, earning her bachelor's degree in nursing. She was also the first in her family to migrate to the U.S. in 1964, paving the way for her loved ones at home to make the journey in hopes of better opportunity. Shortly after arriving in Houston, Texas, she met the love of her life, Mario Macaraeg, who quickly became her husband of 61 fulfilling years.
Together they share three children, Gina, Alexander, and Kristen, and five grandsons, Adrian, Diego, Kingston, Jamie, and River. All of whom adored her completely. Her family would become her greatest legacy, and what she valued most in this world. Virginia will always be remembered for her love and generosity. Also, she will always be remembered as the life of the party, Boss Lady, Dancing Queen, and Scrabble Champion. We will all continue to live by her motto, YOLO, with her voice guiding us in our heads and her love living in our hearts. On the morning of April 18, 2026, Virginia passed beautifully and peacefully at home surrounded by her family. We will miss you dearly, Mama. Rest easy until we meet again, and never forget WE LOVE YOU TOO MUCH!
