David Bruce Powers

David B. Powers, age 54, of Fremont, Indiana, passed away on Tuesday, January 5, 2021 at the IU Health University Hospital, Indianapolis, Indiana.
He was born on October 27, 1966 in Hillsdale, Michigan to John and Betty (Hoag) Powers.
Dave graduated from Quincy High School in 1985. He played football for Quincy High School and was on the varsity team as a Freshman.
Dave married Trina Marie Wiler on July 29, 2000 at the Fremont United Methodist Church.
He was a business owner of Powers Automotive in Fremont , Indiana, since 2009. He was a mechanic for many years and was always available to anyone that needed him. Most of all he loved his family and friends. His two granddaughters were the light of his life. They love their Papa. He was always ready for a good time. He was the life of the party. His laugh was infectious and could always make you smile. When he wasn't working, he enjoyed feeling the wind on his face while riding his motorcycle with his wife, or on the beach soaking up the sun. Dave touched a lot of people's lives and will be missed by many.
Survivors include his wife, Trina Powers of Fremont, Indiana, his children, Amber (Jonathon) Schmidt of Angola, Indiana, Naomi (DJ) Abbott of Fremont, Indiana, Brandi Powers of Angola, Indiana, and Heydon Lown (Jillian Derrickson) of Coldwater, Michigan, two granddaughters, Reese and Ryenn Godfrey, four brothers, Jim (Amy) Powers of Coldwater, Michigan, Dan (Darlene) Powers of Angola, Indiana, Paul Powers of Angola, Indiana, and John (Amy) Powers of Union City, Michigan, and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held from 3-8 pm Friday, January 15, 2021 at Faith Baptist Church, 560 West 400 North, Angola, Indiana 46703.
Following the Steuben County Health Department guidelines facial masks, social distancing and 25 people at a time will be allowed into the church.
Private family graveside services will be held at a later time.
Memorial donations may be directed in care of the family to be used for a memorial fund through the Steuben County Community Foundation for the Fremont Vocational Trade School .
