Gary Lee Kain

He was born Dec. 22, 1944, in Bronson, Mich., to Glen and Arla Rae (Houtz) Kain; they preceded him in death. He married Pat E. (Goulter) on May 5, 1964, at Lake Gage Congregational Church, Steuben County.

He worked for 23 years on the Indiana Toll Road, and retired from the Steuben County Highway Department.

He was a 1963 graduate of Orland High School. He was a member of the Orland Lions Club. He was current chairman of the Millgrove Township Advisory Board. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends, and spending time in Northern Michigan at the family cabin.

Survivors are his wife, Pat E. Kain of Orland; two daughters, Mindy and Jeff Reid of Orland and Donna and Tim Slabach of Wolverine Lake, Mich.; four grandchildren, Michael, Kaitlyn, Garrett, Maria; one great-granddaughter, Madison; and two brothers, Ronald and Carolyn Kain and Michael "Mick" and Paula Kain, both of California.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Robert Berry and Thomas "Tom" Kain.

Calling will be from 4-8 p.m. Thursday at Beams Funeral Home, Fremont.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home with Pastor Jason B. Rains from Sonlight Community Church, Angola, officiating.

Burial will be at a later date at Greenlawn Cemetery, Orland.
