Gordon Lee Davis

He was born on May 19, 1942 in Indianapolis, Indiana to the late James Maceo and Ione Mildred (Parkhurst) Davis.

Gordon married Gladys Strong on September 23, 1963 in Plainfield, Indiana.

He worked for Consolidated Freight in Indianapolis, and later transferred to Fremont and Elkhart, retiring after 25 years of service.

Gordon enjoyed riding his Gold Wing Motorcycles over the years, and he had a booth for selling antiques for many years. He also loved it when he could see his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. After retirement he enjoyed traveling to Florida in the winters.

Survivors include his wife, Gladys Davis of Fremont, Indiana, children, Donald Davis of Franklin, Indiana, James Davis of Angola, Indiana and Gordon Davis, Jr of Fremont, Indiana, grandchildren, Jamie Davis, Barrett Guthrie, Trenton Davis, Courtney Davis, Elizabeth Davis, Amanda Davis, Quinn Davis and Conner Davis, several great-grandchildren and a brother, Robert Davis of Greencastle, Indiana.

He was also preceded in death by a brother, Harold Dean Davis, sister, Shirley Johnson and a grandson, Jacob Davis.

Graveside Services will be held at 1 pm Wednesday, March 18, 2026 at Greenwood Cemetery, Greenwood, Indiana.

Memorial contributions in his memory may be directed to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
