Jim was born on December 12, 1938 in Richmond, Indiana, the son of William and Bertha (Rees) Hollopeter.
He graduated from Richmond High School. Jim worked for the St. Joe Paper Company in Hartford City, Indiana for 35 years, finishing his career as general manager. He also served in the US Army from 1956 – 1958 as a language translator.
Jim enjoyed golf, boating, watching Indiana University athletics, and fine dining. He served for many years on the Board of Directors at the Blackford Country Club in Hartford City, and was also a member of the Elks.
He is survived by one son, Larry Williams of Jacksonville, Florida, and his companion of 19 years, Colleen Chapman McDougal. Jim was preceded in death by his wife of 40 years, Mary (Adams) Williams, a daughter, Kelly Williams, and his parents.
Following his wishes cremation will take, and there will be no services at this time.
