Jeffery Alan Thrush

Jeffery Alan Thrush, age 62, of Orland, Indiana, passed away on Wednesday, January 6, 2021, in Orland. He was born on January 13, 1958 in Angola, Indiana to Paul D. and Retha J. (Coggeshall) Thrush. Jeff grew up in Orland and graduated from Prairie Heights High School in 1976. He was a machine repairman at Dana-Spicer in Fort Wayne for 24 years. Jeff was a member of the American Legion Post # 423 SAL in Orland, and the Legion Riders. He took great pride honoring any fallen veterans while serving as a member of the Orland American Legion Post Honor Guard. Jeff was a friend to many in the Orland Community, and enjoyed spending time with them and his family, and riding his Harley, and also kayaking. He was also known as for being willing to help anyone in a time of need, and didn’t expect anything in return. Survivors include a son, Joshua Thrush of Colon, Michigan, a step-son, Brian Grace of Wall Lake, Orland, Indiana, a step-daughter, Dawn Matthews of Angola, Indiana, many grandchildren, two brothers, Glenn (Helen) Kessler of Sebring, Florida, and DeWayne (Julie) Thrush of Munith, Michigan, a sister-in-law, Alice Thrush of Wall Lake, Orland, Indiana, and many close friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Kay Ann Roose, and a brother, Tony Thrush. Graveside Funeral Services will be held at 1 pm Thursday, January 14, 2021 at Greenlawn Cemetery, Orland, Indiana. Pastor Rodger Strong will officiate the service. A dinner will follow the services at the Orland American Legion.
