

Peggy was born on January 19, 1934 in Fort Wayne, Indiana to parents James and Donna Haeffling. She graduated from Central Catholic High School in 1955. She went on to earn her Bachelor’s Degree in elementary education in 1959 from The College of Mount Saint Joseph in Cincinnati, Ohio.
An avid competitor, Peggy enjoyed playing Tennis and Golf. Her one true love, however, was competitive Bridge which is how she met her husband James Kehoe. Peggy and Jim were married on January 28, 1961. Peggy went on to earn the standing of “Ruby Life Master” obtaining 2,200 master points in her many years of playing Bridge. Many of these points she earned partnering with her husband Jim among other dear friends in both Fort Wayne, Indiana, and Naples, Florida.
A lover of the lake life, Peggy grew up spending summers on Lake James. Along with her husband Jim, she continued to enjoy this lifestyle by spending summers at their cottage on Clear Lake, where they made life-long friends, along with their three daughters, Katie, Ruthie, and Jennifer. Peggy and Jim were able to enjoy their final years together on Jimmerson Lake, alongside their daughter Jennifer Carricarte and son-in-law, Ray Enos.
Peggy is preceded in death by parents, James and Donna Haiffling, a daughter, Ruth Kehoe, and grandson, Christopher Wade. She is survived by husband Jim Kehoe, daughters, Katie Cure and Jennifer Carricarte, son-in-law, Ray Enos, and grandchildren, Joseph Cure and Hunter Carricarte.
Private family services will be held.
Memorial donations in her memory may be directed to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
