

He was born Aug. 15, 1940 in Fremont to his parents, Orville and Edna (Rowe) Hantz, they preceded him in death.
He married Janice Vanpelt on Dec. 9, 1962 in Fort Wayne. She preceded him in death April 27, 2006.
Mr. Hantz was the owner of Precision Welding Corporation, Huntertown. He began his welding business in 1974 in LaOtto, and later moved to the current location in Huntertown.
He was a 1958 graduate of Fremont High School, Fremont. He was a United States Air Force veteran, member of the American Legion, Fremont Moose Lodge, Iyopawa Island Golf Course, and the Lake Lavine Homeowners Association. He enjoyed his family, lawn care, playing golf, and the lake.
Survivors include his three daughters: Peggy Tassler of Fort Wayne, Debbie and Kelly Kovets of LaOtto, and Kelly and Scotty Ferguson of Bristol; two sons: Steve and Shelley Hantz of Carmel and Russ and Renee Hantz of McCordsville; 11 grandchildren, two sisters and four brothers.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Janice Hantz and his parents.
Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. Monday, Dec. 5, 2011 at Beams Funeral Home, Fremont. Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 6, 2011 at Beams Funeral Home, Fremont, with Rev. Gary Reiber officiating.
Burial will be in South Scott Cemetery, Angola, with military committal services conducted by members of Fremont American Legion.
