Robert Alan “Bob” Steinke, age 60, of Angola, Indiana, passed away surrounded by his loving family on Monday, October 7, 2019 at his home.

Bob was born on April 8, 1959 in Montpelier, Ohio.

He attended school in Montpelier, Ohio until his junior year, and graduated from Edon High School in 1977. He also attended vocational school in Williams County.

Bob married Rhonda (Jauregui) Hubbard on August 2, 2018 in Angola, Indiana.

He worked for Dana and also Auto Form for 30 years, and currently was working for Cardinal in Fremont, Indiana.

Bob enjoyed fishing, riding his motorcycle, being outdoors, gardening, the Indianapolis Colts, and loved all of his family and friends very much. He and Rhonda had a hobby farm for many years, with many animals, including draft horses, chickens, turkeys and cows, and his favorite was Samantha his pet turkey. Bob and Rhonda had just recently sold the hobby farm and had decided to move closer to Angola. He was a member of North Scott Christian Church.

Survivors include his wife Rhonda Steinke of Angola, Indiana, children, Nick (Carly) Steinke of Edon, Ohio, Melissa (Dustin) Schlachter of Bryan, Ohio, and Anthony Steinke of Toledo, Ohio, step-children, Jami Hubbard (Bryan Boyer) of Angola, Indiana, and Elliot Hubbard of Angola, Indiana, grandchildren, Ethan, Carter, Brynn, Blake, and Bodhi, his father and step-mother, Colonel Donald (Terry) Steinke of Montpelier, Ohio, mother and step-father, Norma Jean (Ned) Snyder of Montpelier, Ohio, a sister, Debra (Al) Dye of Bat Cave, North Carolina, and a brother, Ronald (Joni) Steinke of Montpelier, Ohio, and a sister-in-law, Nance Steinke of Montpelier, Ohio.

Bob was preceded in death by a brother, Ed Steinke.

Calling hours will be held from 1-3 pm and 5-7 pm Thursday, October 10, 2019 at Beams Funeral Home, Fremont, Indiana.

Funeral Services will be held at 11 am Friday, October 11, 2019 at the North Scott Christian Church, 150 N and 550 E, Angola, Indiana. (For Navigation and Directions use North Scott Church, 5500 East 150 N, Angola, Indiana 46703).

Pastor David Wilson will officiate the service.

Burial will follow the service at Lakeside Cemetery, Fremont, Indiana.

Memorial donations in his memory may be directed to Heartland Hospice or North Scott Christian Church.

Bob was great guy and cared about the work he did and was a great engineer. I enjoyed working with Bob for many at Dana. I am sorry for your loss! Keeping his family in our thoughts and prayers.

Man, there are so many people missing you, Bob! You touched so many lives with your droll humor and your quick smile, while you were giving the shirt off your back to someone you decided needed it more than you did.
Bob walked slower than molasses in January; but if you left him alone long enough, he'd get the job done and done well. It would be on Bob's time schedule, though, not yours --- and the calendar he used might vary a lot from yours! LOL
Rhonda, bless you for loving him and caring for him as you did --- you literally lighted up his life! I continue to pray for you and Bob and all the family, friends, and colleagues who loved him, asking for some peace and comfort over these next few days (and weeks and months) for all those moments that will be so rough without Bob in our world. May God bless you and keep you in His arms.
