Roger Dean Hutchins

Roger was born on March 23, 1947 in Coldwater, Michigan, the son of William B. and Audrey M. (Barringer) Hutchins.

He graduated from Fremont High School in 1965. He attended Tri-State College, Angola, Indiana and earned an Honorary Associates Degree in Business Administration from Trine University this past year.

He retired as service manager at Snyder’s Culligan Water Conditioning in Fremont, after many years of service. He also worked at the Fremont Hardware Store, and at the Fremont American Legion Cassel Post # 257. He was an avid golfer, and accomplished eight hole-in-ones over the years, and also enjoyed traveling, bowling, cooking, and reading. He loved spending time with his family, and had a large circle of friends, and especially enjoyed his group of golfing buddies, and was a big fan of the Indianapolis Colts football team, and IU Basketball teams.

Survivors include his brother, Randy Linn Hutchins of Fremont, Indiana, a sister, Susan Bidelman of Fremont, Indiana, a brother-in-law, Ron Meek of Fremont, Indiana, and a sister-in-law, Cheryl Hutchins, of Fremont, Indiana, and nieces and nephews, Tammy Minster, Peggy Draper, Donald “Zeke” (Jennifer) Robinson, Jr., Shane (Stephanie) Hutchins, and Emily Bidelman.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and a sister, Diana Meek.

Following Roger’s wishes, cremation will take place.

A Celebration of Life for Roger will be held from 2-6 pm Saturday, November 5, 2016 at the Fremont American Legion Cassel Post # 257, Fremont, Indiana.

Burial will be at Fremont Cemetery at a later time.

Memorials in his memory are requested in care of the Fremont American Legion.
