Thomas Raymond "Okie" Ashbrook

Thomas Raymond “Okie” Ashbrook, age 57, of Angola, Indiana, and formerly of Fremont, Indiana, passed away on Wednesday, July 4, 2018 at Lutheran Hospital, Fort Wayne, Indiana. He was born on December 15, 1960, in Sturgis, Michigan, the son of Harold and Betty June (Ringler) Ashbrook. He graduated from Chickasha High School, Chickasha, Oklahoma. He served our Country in the United States Air Force. He worked for many years as a welder for oil rigs. He enjoyed fishing, walking, and sports, especially basketball. Survivors include five children, Chelsea (Corey) Schnetzler of Hamilton, Indiana, Tyler Ashbrook of Fremont, Indiana, Troy Ashbrook, and Zachary Ashbrook, both of Angola, Indiana, and Brandon Cunningham of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, two grandchildren, Makayla Schnetzler, and Avery Ashbrook, two sisters, Tina (Larry) Brubaker of Fremont, Indiana, and Cathy (Bobby) Cole of Montgomery, Michigan, four brothers, Terry (Nina) Ashbrook, Tony (Lisa) Ashbrook, and Curtis (Melanie) Ashbrook, all of Fremont, Indiana, and Coty Ashbrook of Minnesota, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, and a brother, Robert “Bonz” Ashbrook. Following his wishes cremation will take place. Graveside Services will be held at 5 pm Thursday, July 19, 2018 at Jamestown Cemetery, Fremont, Indiana, with Pastor Glenn Flint officiating. Memorial donations are requested to his children in care of Troy Ashbrook.
