She was born on June 26, 1943 in Hillsdale County, Michigan to the late Adelbert and Mildred Marie (Waters) Smith.
Vera retired from Beatrice Foods in Archbold, Ohio. She also worked at TI Automotive, Ashley, Indiana.
She liked playing cards, dice, and collected Owls. She loved her grandkids, loved seeing them, and looking at all their photos.
Survivors include her children, Guy (Beth) Creager, Sara Creager, Travis Creager and David Merillat, all of Angola, Indiana, grandchildren, Charles, Callahan, Sonja, Jordan, Bailey, Robert and Alexander, 23 great-grandchildren, and a brother, Lawrence Smith of Angola, Indiana.
She was also preceded in death by siblings, James Dorothy, Martha and Mary.
Private family services will be held at a later time.
Burial will be at California Cemetery, California Township, Michigan.
Memorial contributions in her memory may be directed in care of the family.
