Barbara Ann Cavazos, 75, of Petersburg, MI, quietly passed surrounded by her loved ones on Saturday, January 12, 2019 at Toledo Hospital. She was born the daughter of Joseph and Ruth (Barnette) Ulko on October 21, 1943 in Detroit, MI. She married Carlos Cavazos in September of 1962, and he preceded her in death.
Barbara was an avid computer user and gamer and loved playing World of Warcraft and editing photos on her specialized computer system. She was an excellent cook, especially with her toaster oven, enjoyed working in her garden, and she loved to sing. Barbara always had a song for any situation. She was the matriarch of her family, who she loved above all else, and she will be greatly missed.
Left to cherish her memory are her children; Elena (Michael Spaulding) Mannor of Petersburg, MI, Alicia (Paul) Schultz of Toledo, OH, Julian (Balinda) Cavazos of Jackson, MI, Maria (Brian) Gilbert of Petersburg, MI, sisters; Carrell Bouchard, Wanda Ulko, grandchildren; Jerry Mannor, Nicole (Dan) Fisher, Lauren Mannor, Michael Mannor, Sydney (Devin) Gray, John (Chelsea) Langston, Aaron (Nicole) Langston, Kelsey Cavazos, Julian Cavazos, Samuel Gilbert, Anthony Gilbert, great-grandchildren; Troy Fisher, Kenton Gray, Harper Gray, and Sherman, her grandson’s cat, whom she adored.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Carlos, and her parents.
Barbara will be buried with her husband at Fort Custer National Cemetery in Augusta, MI, at a later date.
