

Gerald entered into the U.S. Army in 1961, where he was a sharpshooter and marksman until 1966. After his service in the military, he worked as a mechanic for ODOT, and as a Reserve Deputy Sheriff, for which he earned an Associate Degree in law enforcement. He was a family man that enjoyed hobbies such as operating a Ham radio, listening to country music, especially George Jones, playing the guitar, celebrating Christmas, gardening and doing anything outdoors.
Surviving are his children Byron Miller, of Fremont, OH, and Katharine “Kate” Hill of Tiffin, OH; grandchildren: James Hill, Madalynn Miller, Sabrina Hill Stein, Jon Hill, Marissa Miller; great-grandchildren, Serena Jo and Vincent Stein; brother, Daniel Miller, sisters, Janice (Charles) Frye, Mary Ann (Gene) Isabelle all of Florida. He is preceded in death by his parents, wife, Ruth Ann and brothers Robert, William, and Richard Miller.
A memorial service will begin at 11a.m. on Tuesday, May 26, 2015, with visitation one hour prior to the service at Keller-Koch-Chudzinski Funeral Home, 416 S. Arch Street, Fremont, Ohio, 43420. Burial will follow at Oakwood cemetery with Military Graveside Honors provided by the V.F.W. and American Legion.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Sandusky County Cancer Care Fund.
