Jean Campbell Clark

Jean Campbell Clark died peacefully in Fremont, Ohio on March 14, 2016 at the age of 85. Jean was born June 27, 1930 to John and Orma Campbell in Springfield, Ohio. She is survived by her husband of 30 years Jerry Clark and her children Betsy White, Andy and Cindy Mohler, Jane and Lynn Martin, and Molly and Bill Shearrow. Also surviving are her stepchildren Garry and Del Clark, Dorothy and Willie Gardner, Debbie Clark, Diane Bascone (Jeff), and Doris Clark. Her grandchildren include Jonathan and Tamsyn White, Emily and Tom Geisinger, Phillip Martin, Brently Mohler, and Berkley Mohler. Grandchildren include Sarah (Adam) Erwin, Dennis Gardner, and Victoria Clark and great grandchildren Jolyon and Arthur White and Hayden Clark.

She is preceded in death by her beloved parents John and Orma and her favorite Aunts Jennie and Orpha, and her siblings Marion Sanderson, Dick Campbell, Helen Schreiber, and Lois Carol Campbell.

Jean graduated from Springfield High School and attended Muskingum College 1948-50. She held many professional and volunteer jobs and her last position was with her husband at Clark Associates, Inc. She is a Deacon at First Presbyterian Church of Fremont and remained active all of her life. Jean had many interests and hobbies including counted cross-stitch, reading, history, home improvement, and gardening. She enjoyed travelling and collecting antiques and especially glass. She never met a project that she did not think she could tackle. She was especially devoted to children and was proud of her service teaching those with autism and special needs. Greater than the sadness of her death is the joy she spread during her life.

Jean taught many people kindness and service before self, even at the end of her life as she worked with her caregivers. She is best remembered as fiercely loyal to her friends and family, gracious, noble, kind, and a mentor to many.

Visitation will be held Thursday, March 17, 2016 from 3-7 pm at Keller-Koch-Chudzinski Funeral home, 416 South Arch Street, Fremont, OH 43420. Services will be held at 11 am on Friday, March 18, 2016 at First Presbyterian Church, 120 S Park Ave, Fremont, OH 43420 with Rev. Dr. William McConnell officiating. Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the First Presbyterian Church.
