Marcelle Ellen First

Marcelle Ellen First, 95, of Fremont, passed away at Elmwood Assisted Living on Monday, February 23, 2015. She was born on February 28, 1919 in Geneva Township, MI, to Clifton and Melvina (Willis) Pierce.Marcelle graduated from LC Moore High School in South Haven, MI in 1936. She held various jobs in her early years before becoming a wife, homemaker and mother. She was an former member of the Memorial Hospital Auxiliary, acting as merchandise buyer for the Memorial Hospital gift shop, and a long term member of the Fremont Country Club. Preceding her in death are her parents; two brothers and one sister; her husband of 44 years, Lester H. First; and her son, Jeffrey Brent First.Surviving Marcelle is her daughter, Karen (Mark) Vander Jagt of Tucson, AZ; daughter-in-law, Marilyn First of Edmond, OK; two grandchildren, three great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.Services will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a charity of personal choice. Keller-Koch-Chudzinski Funeral Home, 416 S. Arch Street, Fremont, OH, has been entrusted with arrangements.
