

Patricia Ann Damschroder passed into eternal life on August 31, 2017 at Otterbein Portage Valley. She left this earth peacefully with her family by her side. Pat was born to Ruth Irene (Martin) and Jacob Kline Smith on November 13, 1931 in Fremont, Ohio. She graduated from Fremont Ross High School in 1949 and married her high school sweetheart, Kenneth William Damschroder on June 18, 1949. They were blessed with 65 years of devoted marriage. Ken preceded her in death on March 25, 2015.
Pat worked for the Fremont Board of Education prior to starting her family. She was a charter member of the Ballville Township Volunteer Fire Department Auxiliary in 1957 and was a lifelong and active member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Kingsway. Pat was a terrific cook and baker. Above all, she was a devoted daughter, wife, mother, and grandmother.
Pat is survived by son David and daughter Ruthann (David) House of Fremont; grandchildren Jacob Whitman, David Damschroder, Andrew and Alex House;
four great grandchildren; and brother Wayne Smith. She was preceded in death by her parents.
Friends and family will be received at Keller-Koch-Chudzinski Funeral Home, 416 S. Arch Street, Fremont from 4 pm until 7 pm on Thursday, September 7, 2017. The funeral service will be held at Grace Lutheran Church, 705 W. State Street, Fremont at 11 am on Friday, September 8, 2017 with an additional hour of visitation beginning at 10 am at the church. Pastors Jody Rice and Scott Mauch will officiate. Burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery.
