

Rita Mayle Hershey 94, passed away at Edgewood Nursing home Port Clinton, OH on Friday, May 22, 2015 the feast of St. Rita, for whom which she was named. She was surrounded by her children and their spouses saying the rosary which she loved. She was born in Fremont, OH, September 10, 1920 an identical twin, the daughter of Louie and Minnie Mayle. Her twin Rody Reineck survives. She was married to Willard Hershey who preceded her in death in 1999. Rita was a fun loving woman, spending her winters in Fremont and her summers in Port Clinton at Mayleville, the family dream location where the whole family continues the tradition of spending their summers together. Rita was a home maker who loved her family. She was involved in helping with her daughters Camp Fire meetings and was a Den Mother for her sons. She was a devout Catholic and raised her 4 children by sending them to St. Joseph's School.
The “Mayle Twins” Rita and Rody, were so close through their lives sharing a double wedding (marrying best friends )honeymoon, adjoining cottages at Mayleville and time share condos at Ft. Myers Beach. In the later years the family referred to them as the Twinkies because they were always together.
She was preceded in death by her Husband Willard Hershey in 1999, sister Luella Hoffman; brothers, Irving, Carroll, Bob and Dick and Edmund Mayle
Surviving are her daughters, Ruthie (John ) Caputo, Debbie (Steve )Krynock, sons Ken (Ann) Hershey, Jack (Cathy) Hershey; Grandchildren, Matt (Rachell) Paeth, Mark(Cheryl ) Paeth, Mike (Beth) Paeth and Jack (Sharon ) Hershey, Trisha (Matt) Whatley; Great -Grandchildren Taylor Paeth, Matthew Paeth, Hannah Paeth, Alayna Paeth, Sammy Paeth, Brennen Paeth, Karly Paeth, twin great- granddaughters, Lily and Emma Hershey and great - grandson Tyler Whatley.
Visitation will take place on Tuesday, May 26, 2015 from 2-4 and6-8P.M. at Keller-Koch-Chudzinski Funeral Home, 416 S. Arch Street, Fremont, OH. A Mass of Resurrection will begin at 10:30A.M. on Wednesday from St. Joseph Catholic Church, 709 Croghan Street, Fremont, OH, with Rev. Michael Zacharias officiating. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery. Memorial Contributions may be made to St. Joseph’s , Immaculate Conception Church or Stein Hospice. Online condolences may be expressed at www.kokm.net
