November 10, 2013 at the age of 90, after a brief illness.
Adolph was born in Dos Palos on June 9, 1923. His parents
Cesare and Delia Pierini immigrated from Italy to the United States
in the early 1900's. At the age of 12, Adolph moved to Fresno with
his parents and younger sister Celia, after his father was
promoted by the Bank of America.
Adolph was a standout athlete at Fresno High School in the
early 1940's. He excelled in football, basketball, baseball
and was on the varsity teams as a sophomore. He was
recognized throughout the valley as an exceptional athlete
and had may articles written about his accomplishments in
the Fresno Bee.Adolph was drafted into the Army Air Corps
and proudly served his country for three years during World
War II. Upon his return, he graduated from Fresno State.
During that time, he met a beautiful German girl, Irene
Weisbrodt, in Bass Lake and proclaimed "That's the Girl for Me."
After getting to know Adolph, Irene's mother said
"If you don't marry that boy, I will!" They fell in love,
married, and had three children, Gary, Greg and Becki.
Their lives revolved around their children. Adolph and
Irene shared 66 wonderful years together.
Adolph was co-owner of the successful Ciancetti and
Pierini Furniture Company, in Fresno, for over 30 years.
He was a member of Belmont Country Club, Edison
Social Club, SIRS and a longtime member of Good Shepherd
Lutheran Church. During his leisure time, Adolph enjoyed
golfing, traveling with family and friends and following his
favorite sports teams, the Fresno State Bulldogs, along
with the San Francisco Giants and 49ers. Most of all, he
loved spending time with his family, especially during the holidays.
Adolph will be missed by many and always remembered
as a loving husband, devoted father, father-in-law, grandfather,
great-grandfather and loyal friend. God bless Adolph
now and forever more. Amen The family is grateful to
