Alejo Muñoz Chávez passed away on March 29, 2022 at the age of 81. His final moments were spent in the peace of his home and surrounded by family. In recent years, he faced multiple medical battles but persevered with strength & courage.
He is remembered by his family as a funny person and a big jokester. You could always find Alejo people watching from his kitchen window or riding his scooter around the neighborhood. He will always be remembered for wearing a baseball cap on his head & a laughing smile on his face.
Alejo is survived by his children Maria, Estela, Jesus, Benny, and Sandra; 17 grandchildren; and 17 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Socorro Muñoz Orozco, and his son, Alejandro Muñoz.
A visitation for Alejo will be held Monday, April 11, 2022 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Whitehurst Sullivan Burns & Blair Funeral Home, 836 E. Nees Ave., Fresno, CA 93720. A rosary service will occur Monday, April 11, 2022 from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM, 836 E. Nees Ave., Fresno, CA 93720. A funeral service will occur Tuesday, April 12, 2022 from 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM at St. Johns Cathedral Catholic Church, 2814 Mariposa St., Fresno, CA 93721. A graveside service will occur Tuesday, April 12, 2022 from 11:45 AM to 12:10 PM at St. Peters Catholic Cemetery, 264 N. Blythe Ave., Fresno, CA 93706.
