Alice Mae Jordan

Alice Mae Jordan, age 91 years, and ten months, of Fresno, CA, went to be with her Lord Jesus on Tuesday, February 7, 2017. She was born in Nord, CA on April 5, 1925. She was the eldest daughter of William Fredrick Gash, also known as Boone Gash, and wife, Rua Estella Gash (Keep).

Alice was a devoted Catholic, a member of St. Helen's Alter Guild and served as a Eucharistic Minister. She was an avid animal lover and her other passions were gardening, cooking for the family gatherings, and helping others in need. Her proudest accomplishments were her children, her service to her church, and her more than 38 years and 24,000 hours of recognized volunteer service for the Veterans Administration Hospital.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, William E. Jordan; her brothers, Billie, Glenn and Melvin Gash; and her sisters Mary Baker, and Bonnie Nauyoks. She is survived by her brother, Fred W. Gash and wife Linda; her children, Donald R. Jordan, Peggy L. Welder and husband Bill, and Gayle E. Jordan; her grandchildren, Mark Jordan, Shane Jordan and wife Trish, Ellen Scusa, Joseph Jordan and wife Christy, Dean Welder and wife Karen, Christopher Welder and wife Deborah, and John Welder and wife Laimin; her great-grandchildren, Brenden Jordan (Inkster), Nicholas Scusa, Adam Scusa, Brandon Welder, Kayla Welder, Jade Welder, Michael Welder, and Aidan Jordan; and her beloved little dog Lorna.

A Funeral Service will be held at Stephens & Bean Chapel on Friday, February 17, 2017, at 11:00 a.m. A Graveside Blessing will follow at Belmont Memorial Park with a reception afterwards.

In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to St. Helen’s Catholic Church Altar Guild, 4875 E. Grant Ave., Fresno, CA 93727 or the NorCal Border Collie Rescue, 1431 Merry Knoll Road, Auburn, CA 95603, or a Pet Rescue of the donor's choice.
