Anna V. Smilanich

Anna was born on June 4 1922, in Long Beach, Ca. to Drago and Elena Vuksanovich, Serbian Immigrants from the Bay of Kotor, Montenegro. She peacefully reposed in the Lord on Friday, February 3, 2012, in Fresno, Ca.

Anna grew up in Long Beach, graduating from Polytechnic High in Long Beach. She attended Long Beach City College and was employed as an executive secretary for over 15 years at the Shell Oil Company in Long Beach. She was a devoted member of St. Steven's Serbian Orthodox Cathedral in Alhambra, Ca. where she served for 17 years as Financial Secretary. Anna was a member of the Cathedral's Women's Auxiliary, Choir, and a member of the Serbian Mothers' Club of Fresno.

Anna and her husband Eli relocated to Fresno in July of 1996. She is preceded in death by Eli, her husband of 45 years.

Anna is survived by daughters and their spouses Marnie and Harry Butts of Prescott, Az. and Elena and George Gligich of Fresno, Ca..; grandchildren, Stephanie Mueller, John Gligich and Daniel Gligich; sister, Marguerite Endacott of Anaheim Hills, Ca.;

A Memorial Prayer Service will be held on Tuesday, February 7, 2012, at St. Peter the Apostle Serbian Orthodox Church at 7:00 p.m.

Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, February 9, 2012, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Steven's Serbian Orthodox Cathedral in Alhambra, Ca. with the internment to follow at the Serbian Cemetery in Los Angeles, Ca.

Remembrances may be made to St. Peter the Apostle Serbian Orthodox Church, 3502 N. First St., Fresno Ca. 93726
