

Anne Gage Steele was born in Fresno, California on Nov. 26, 1930 to Charles and Roselyn Gage. She was the youngest child in a line of nine. She peacefully passed away on April 29, 2017 with her family by her side. Anne attended St. John's Elementary School and San Joaquin Memorial where her brown eyes and the dimple in her cheek attracted her high school sweetheart, Tom Steele. They were married Dec. 29, 1951 and had four children. Taking care of her husband and children was her true passion. Trips to the beach and mountains were always a highlight for the family. Anne took great pride in helping Tom at the family business, Steele Printing. Her caring and creative nature thrived while planning holiday feasts and decorating her home. She was on many school committees at Sacred Heart, St. Anthony's and SJM as well as an active member of Candlelight Guild and Holiday Boutique. She and Tom had a large group of lifelong friends with whom they travelled and enjoyed entertaining (PPT). Anne took pleasure in reading, gardening, tennis, yoga, and playing bridge.
Anne is survived by her children, Tim and wife Vida, Amy Steele, Marci Shelton and her husband John, Patrick and his wife Stacey; seven grandchildren, Andy and his wife Jessica, Megan, Jacqueline, Kevin, David, Ridge and Mimi; two great grandchildren, Laura and Allison. She leaves behind many loving nieces, nephews and lifelong friends. Recitation of the Holy Rosary will be held at Whitehurst, Sullivan, Burns & Blaire Funeral Home on Tues., May 9, 2017 at 7:00 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Holy Spirit Church on Wed., May 10, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. Interment to follow
at St. Peter's Catholic Cemetery.
